Last week, Merritt Group celebrated our first annual Spirit Week. With a fun-filled theme each day and small in-office events throughout the week, we focused on physical well-being and healthy competition.

On Monday, Merritt Group-ers suited up to reveal their inner superheroes (or supervillains), then used their powers for a heated game of office knockout. Senior VP & Partner, Shahed Ahmed, eventually took home the win, but not without some fierce competition from account supervisor, Mia Damiano.

Merritt Group-ers then donned their vintage attire on Tuesday for “Decades Day,” wearing their favorite trends from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. In addition to their retro outfits, employees also took some time in the afternoon to honor Merritt Group’s spirit of giving by crafting Halloween cards and goodie bags for Cards For Hospitalized Kids and Northern Virginia Family Service.

The celebrations came to a head on Wednesday for the inaugural chili cook-off. Decked out in their favorite college gear, Merritt Group-ers enjoyed homemade chili while sampling Oktoberfest-themed beers. In the end, staff accountant, Kyle Skaggs, took home the crown for best chili and everyone else left with a full stomach and a smile.

Finally, on Thursday, employees wrapped up the week in full Merritt Group garb, putting an end to what will surely be a Spirit Week to remember, and a tough one to beat!

“The inaugural MG Spirit Week was so much fun. I loved seeing everyone dress up in their school colors. It took me back to high school spirit week, and the energy throughout the office, especially during the chili cook-off, was contagious! This week kicked off the beginning of many of MG’s holiday traditions and I am so excited to take part in the remainder of activities for 2018!”
