AAF DC is the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF). AAF DC promotes integrity and excellence in advertising through professional development seminars. The organization recognizes industry leaders and outstanding work, and serves as the leading networking venue for the industry. Members include people from agencies and corporations within the metro D.C. region. Merritt Group’s creative team are all individual members of AAF DC.

ADWKDC is AAF DC’s largest and most highly attended annual event. This week-long conference is dedicated to networking and professional development. Last year, ADWKDC was held the week of Oct. 17 with the core conference on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 20-21.

Merritt Group served as the Exclusive Creative Sponsor for ADWKDC 2017. Through this in-kind partnership, Merritt Group developed the unique motif and theme direction for the conference — Trespass.

It’s rare to see the word ‘trespass’ standing on its own — almost always paired with the word “no.” ADWKDC 2017 was dedicated to helping local advertising, marketing and communications agencies push outside their self-set boundaries and encourage a little rule breaking. As marketing and creative professionals, we often get into routines and become stagnant. With this campaign, we wanted to illuminate the positive outcomes that occur when we step out of our comfort zones.

Merritt Group helped AAF DC promote the ADWKDC 2017 events by developing several campaign materials. These channels and designed deliverables included:

• PowerPoint template

• HTML email template

• Social media thumbnails and headers

• Snapchat filter

• Event website headers

• Event badges and signage

The event was a great success, with several hundred attendees, great visibility for the D.C. chapter of AAF and engaging speakers.
