CASE STUDY: TABLEAU
LAUNCHING ONE OF THE HOTTEST DATA IPOS OF THE DECADERESULTS:

GOALS
Tableau had a great narrative about humanizing and democratizing data but needed to tell its story at scale to enterprise buyers. At the same time, the company needed to raise its product and brand visibility to compete against fast-emerging players and prepare itself for IPO and subsequent life as a public company.
Merritt Group’s multi-year engagement helped Tableau break into mainstream media, leveraging then-CEO Christian Chabot. The team took him on the road, tapped into Tableau’s passionate customers and educated media on the new ways to work with data. Merritt Group created and executed Tableau’s IPO launch, including supporting the team onsite at the NYSE managing a schedule of 27 CEO IPO-day interviews, including a floor interview with CNBC’s Squawk on the Street. We secured a steady stream of feature stories in Fortune, Wired, BusinessWeek and Wall Street Journal and regular product coverage in InformationWeek, ZDNet and Computerworld, among other publications.
